Private Classes in soft glass or borosilicate in my home studio: I am able to do a class for 1 or 2 people for soft glass and one person only for borosilicate glass. The cost is $40/hr. for one person and $35/hr. each for 2 people. I usually recommend a 2-3 hour class to start with. I gear the class to whatever you are looking for. If you are interested in setting up your own studio, we can talk about those issues, or if you just want to try it out to see if it is for you, we can start that way. In a beginning class I would cover safety, glass types, dipping mandrels, basic round beads, pulling stringer, making a twisty, bead shapes, dots and so on. If you have some experience, we could get into more bead shapes, foils, enamels, encasing etc. With the boro we will discuss the chemistry of the colors and the differences in working with boro if you are used to soft glass. We will cover beads and pendants. These classes are scheduled individually when we can find a time that works for both parties. You can email or call me at 610-670-3104 to schedule a class (email is easier for me as I am often unavailable to answer the phone).
